Pomerania getting closer to Scandinavia and Germany!
It is on 10th June 2015 when Slupsk Technology Incubator will bring Pomerania, Nordic countries, and Germany together. On this see Slupsk will see partners from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Germany flocking to share their experiences and present opportunities of international cooperation.
The conference titled "From an idea to a successful international cooperation – Pomerania meets Scandinavia & Germany", is organised by STI and will serve as a platform for discussion and exchange of best business practices useful in contacts with foreign business partners.
- „Scandinavian countries and Germany are important trade partners for Poland in European Union. We have been conducting many enterprises aimed at developing of innovation, implementing new ICT solutions, as well as renewable sources of energy and ecotechnologies." – says the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Janusz Piechociński.
Pomeranian Province has one of the best transport links with Scandinavia and Germany, which makes it very attractive for entrepreneurs from these countries. At the same time, the markets of our northern and western neighbours seem to become increasingly interesting for companies operating in Poland.
Since 2013 Pomeranian Regional Development Agency from Slupsk has been carrying out a project entitled „Invest in Pomerania 2 – Promotion of Investment Attractiveness of Pomerania in Scandinavia and Germany". As part of the project, 25 Pomeranian companies representing ICT, renewable energy and ecotechnology sectors have taken part in five trade missions to Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Germany. The companies participated in international trade shows, where they could establish new business contacts and, to exchange good practices, they visited institutions supporting business and sectors the missions were aimed at. They also had active support of Trade and Investment Promotion Departments of Polish Embassies and bilateral Chambers of Commerce. The June conference will recapitulate the achievements to date and will also provide a possibility to carry out future international projects.
- „Activities of PRDA whose aim is to support international initiative of Pomeranian businesses as well as promotion of investment attractiveness of Pomerania, contribute significantly to widening cooperation of local businesses with countries boasting high economic potential and substantial experience in development of modern economic solutions." – stresses Mieczysław Struk, Pomeranian Province Marshall.
- „There are many interesting and innovative solutions in the area of renewable energy sources and ICT in our neighbours' countries that we could transplant and implement on our own ground. We would like to extend a warm welcome to take part i this conference during which you can learn about the outcome of our activities and receive practical guidelines concerning cooperation with Scandinavian and German businesses" – says Mirosław Kamiński, the President of PRDA.
The conference aims at summing up the entirery of activities involved in organising the trade missions, presenting practical advice on how to cooperate with the Scandinavians and Germans, and showing how cultural differences may impact business relations.
